Audio Files from "Música Viva"

Prata da Casa 1: Fábio Presgrave

This brilliant cellist has exchanged the glamor and urbanity of São Paulo, the largest city in Brazil, for the tranquility and bucolism of Natal, in Rio Grande do Norte. He changed his work in institutions like Symphonic Orchestra of São Paulo to build here one of the most important cello schools in the history of the country. In this episode, you can see why by listening to his meticulous and inspired interpretation and his impressive sonority.

Imagine a modern version of these bands, capable of promoting an incredible combination of Popular Music, Northeastern Music, Jazz and Concert Music. So, let me introduce to you… Música Viva and Jerimum Jazz!

Prata da Casa 5: Octeto de saxofones

For many people, the image of a saxophonist playing carries an aura of romanticism and beauty, which other instruments often fail to achieve. So imagine eight saxophonists playing together! A repertoire chosen to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. Everything to celebrate this program “Música Viva”, for your delight.

Prata da Casa 6: Duo de Violões Alvaro/Danilo

This episode of Musica Viva presents part of the work developed in more than 25 years of partnership between Alvaro Barros and Danilo Guanais, two guitarists who insisted on breaking down barriers between classical and popular repertoire, in original arrangements and creative adaptations. Listen how two guitars dialogue with balance and lightness, in works from the English Renaissance, moder guitar music, contemporary popular guitar composers and the traditional Brazilian “Choro” .
